Both lines show up on the handset.It's also worth noting that this phone is completely sealed- the battery compartment is behind a screw door, initial battery connection is done by pushing a one-use button on the bottom of the phone. This phone internally is one of the standard Uniden TRU-series 5.8GHz phones, and is thus compatible with a great many Uniden bases. This however also means that it can only charge in the included base, which is NOT waterproof.However this phone is great for what it does- a waterproof extension to an existing Uniden TRU system, or as a single standalone waterproof phone It uses an inductive charger, so there are no exposed charging pins on the phone. If you already have a compatible Uniden base, you can pair the phone with that, and use the included yellow base solely as a charging bay. It's also compatible with 2-line base stations, I use mine with a TRU9466 base kit.
Bought this phone to add onto my existing Uniden 5.8 phone system. It is THICKER then the regular phones already in my 5.8 system; and it has its own base which requires a telephone line connection to its base. I was looking for a phone to survive in the humid environment of my shower & possibly my steam room. Plus I don't talk on the phone when I am in the Jacuzzi.
So when you have Direct link or monitoring or paging , you must return to the base of this unit, not the base of your existing 5.8 phone system. This phone then became my Bed/Bath #1-phone (in my phone registry) as it is too big to register in the base of the my existing system. Not register this phone to my existing system which has my answering system and other 6 phones. Kind of hard to remember in a 4,000 sq ft house. This is my only regret with this phone besides requiring a phone line to its base. The Uniden website said this was a compatible phone to my existing system.
to add phones I must now register with this phone. (Don't have a pool). Forgetaboutit.Happy to say that it works fine for the times that I need it.
But keeping this Uniden in the charge cradle is a real drag. The speakerphone is louder than my Panasonic was. It looks gorgeous.
It has never gotten wet. My previous cordless, a Panasonic, could go for two (2) weeks without having to worry about returning it to its charging cradle. Within the last month I purchased a new cordless phone, model WX1477.
All the other features of this phone are great. A less-than-average cordless. It has never even been close to being wet.
I find the length of the battery life to be extremely poor (less than 3 days).
I bought this one because I have 2 lines at my car shop. This phone is great. I have thrown my other phone over 50 feet onto concrete and it still works perfectly.
phone book that allows you to enter numbers, bring them up, and dial. This product meets expectations. I have not submerged it in water but it has great reception and I am very happy with all of the features, i.e.
